Gigs This Week

Californian rock band, Ugly Kid Joe are at Glasgow’s Garage on Thursday (17th September 2015). The band formed in 1987 and are best known for their signature single, “Everything About You”. Ugly Kid Joe release their fourth LP, “Uglier Than They used Ta Be” this Friday (18th September 2015), their first album in 19 years.

Fresh from supporting Foo Fighters at Murrayfield Stadium last week, Glasgow duo, Honeyblood are at The Art School on Friday (18th September 2015). The pair formed in 2012 and released their self-titled debut LP last year.

Post-punk pioneers, Public Image Ltd are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday (18th September 2015). Having originally formed in 1978, the band parted ways in 1992, before reuniting in 2009. John Lydon & Co released their tenth studio album, “What The World Needs Now . . .” earlier this month.

Simply Dylan is set to delight fans both you and old of the legendary singer/songwriter at Oran Mor in Glasgow’s West End on Friday (18th September 2015). Simply Dylan aka John O’Connell is not a tribute band, but instead explores the rich and diverse sound and style of Dylan from the 1970s onwards.

Aussie comedy rock band, The Beards are scheduled to play at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Friday (18th September 2015). The band, from Adelaide, formed in 2005 and have released 4 LPs to date; their hysterical tracks are all about the virtue of having a beard! “It Only Takes A Fortnight To Grow A Decent Beard”, anyone?

Veteran rock band, W.A.S.P are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Friday (18th September 2015). The band are out in support of their forthcoming LP, “Golgotha” which is due for release in October 2015

North London-born band, Wolf Alice are live at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday (19th September 2015). The band, fronted by Ellie Roswell, formed in 2010 and released their debut LP, “My Love Is Cool” in June 2015Support comes from Drenge and Made Violent.

Oran Mor plays host to The Sensational David Bowie Tribute Band this Saturday (18th September 2015). The tribute band are scheduled to pay homage to The Thin White Duke with some of his biggest hits, including, “Space Oddity”, “Rebel Rebel”, “Suffragette City”, “Heroes” and many, many more.

NY pop-punks, State Champs are at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Monday (21st September 2015). The band formed in 2010 and released their debut offering, “The Finer Things” in 2013. Their second LP, “Around The World And Back” was released this year.

Just Announced

Devon-born rock gods, Muse have announced plans to play Glasgow’s SSE Hydro next year. The trio, who formed in 1994, released their seventh studio LP, “Drones” in June 2015. Muse will play SSE Hydro on Sunday 17th April 2016.

X Factor 2006 winner, Leona Lewis has announced plans to tour in 2016, including a date at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium on Tuesday 8th March 2016. The singer released her fifth studio LP, “I Am” this week; it features the singles, “Fire Under My Feet”, “Thunder” and title track, “I Am”.

Veteran post-punk rockers, The Stranglers have unveiled tour plans for early 2016. The band, who formed in 1974, will play a string of Scottish dates in March 2016; Perth’s Concert Hall (3rd), Inverness’ Ironworks (4th) and Glasgow’s 02 Academy (5th).

Brit singer/songwriter, Jess Glynne will be at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Wednesday 17th February 2016. The London-born singer is best known for her vocal contributions to Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” and Route 94’s “My Love”, and released her debut LP, “I Cry When I Laugh” in August of this year.
