Gigs This Week

Indie rockers, Tall Ships are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s tonight (Tuesday 7th March 2017). The band, who formed in 2009, are out in support of their second LP, “Impressions” which dropped last month.

Glasgow’s Garage play host to The Mahones, a Canadian/Irish punk band tonight (Tuesday 7th March 2017). The band formed on St Patrick’s Day in 1990 and have released 12 studio albums to date, the most recent being 2015’s “The Hunger & The Fight (Part 2)”.

The Heavy Fire Tour comes to Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Wednesday (8th March 2017) and Thursday (9th March 2017) with headliners Black Star Riders and support from GUN and Backyard Babies. Black Star Riders formed in 2012 and feature former members of Irish rockers, Thin Lizzy; they are out in support of latest LP, “Testify Or Say Goodbye”

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to London-based band, The Comet Is Coming on Wednesday (8th March 2017). The band, who formed in 2013, blend electronica, jazz, funk and psychedelic rock and released their debut LP, “Channel The Spirits” in April of this year.

Folk rockers, Frontier Ruckus are at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Thursday (9th March 2017). The band, from Michigan, are out in support of their fifth studio LP, “Enter The Kingdom”.

Friday (10th March 2017) will see The Weeknd claim centre stage at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, with support from Bryson Tiller.  The Weeknd, aka Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, is best known for signature song, “Can’t Feel My Face”. The Weeknd is out is support of third LP, “Starboy” which dropped in November 2016 and features Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey and Future.

Female-fronted four-piece, VUKOVI are scheduled to play Glasgow’s King Tut’s on Friday (10th March 2017) which coincides with the release of the Scottish band’s self-titled debut LP.

Singer/songwriter, Laura Marling is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday (10th March 2017). Marling is out in support of her forthcoming sixth studio album, “Semper Femina” which features the single, “Soothing”.

Legendary punk rockers, The Stranglers are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Saturday (11th March 2017) as part of their current UK Tour. With an impressive 17 Top 40 Albums throughout their career, there will be no shortage of classic tracks to shape the evening.

American singer/songwriter, BANKS is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday (11th March 2017). Banks, aka Jillian Rose Banks, is out in support of second LP, “The Altar” which was released in September 2016

Singer/songwriter, Lucy Spraggan is set to headline Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (12th March 2017). The former X Factor contestant has released four studio LPs since quitting the show due to illness in 2012, the most recent being, “I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing” which was released in January of this year.
