Gigs This Week

The Wombats are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Tuesday (27th June 2017). The trio, who formed in Liverpool in 2003, are best known for their signature track, “Let’s Dance To Joy Division”. They have released three studio albums since 2007, the latest being 2015’s “Glitterbug”.

British born actor, Kiefer Sutherland is showcasing his musical talent at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Tuesday (27th June 2017). Sutherland is best known for his roles in “The Lost Boys”, “Flatliners” and “Phone Booth”, but is out in support of his debut LP, “Down In A Hole” which dropped last year. Support comes from Sounds Of The Siren.

Nashville’s own, American Young are scheduled to play Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Wednesday (28th June 2017). The country duo are Kristy Osmunson and Jon Stone who released their self-titled debut LP in August 2016. Support comes from Lynnie Carson.

Glasgow’s Art School play host to Texas rockers, Spoon on Wednesday (28th June 2017). The band, who formed in 1993, released their ninth studio effort, “Hot Thoughts” in March of this year. Support comes from Adam Buxton.

New York City duo, 75 Dollar Bill are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Thursday (29th June 2017). The pair, Chen Chen and Rick Browns are out in support of their second studio effort, Wood/Metal/Plastic/Pattern/Rhythm/Rock” which was released last year.

Hip hop royalty, The Sugarhill Gang are scheduled to play Glasgow’s St Luke’s on Friday (30th June 2017). The band, who originally formed in 1979, are best known for their hit single, “Rapper’s Delight”; they have released five studio LPs to date, the most recent being 1999’s “Jump On It!”.

Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays to host to The Jacksons as part of their 50th Anniversary Tour on Sunday (2nd July 2017). The band that made a superstar of the late Michael Jackson are expected to play some of their biggest hits including, “ABC”, “I Want You Back”, “I’ll Be There” and many, many more.
